  • ICT researchers play significant roles in the BenchCouncil organization.

  • International Open Benchmark Council (BenchCouncil) is a non-profit organization that aims to benchmark and standardize emerging technologies such as Big Data, AI, Chips, HPC, and Metaverse, among others.  Since its founding, BenchCouncil has sought to fu lfill four fundamental responsibilities: establish unified science and engineering benchmarks across multidiscip lines; keep benchmarks and standards community-open, inclusive and growing; define the problems and trends  within emerging and future computing; and promote benchmark-based quantitative approaches to tackle multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary challenges.

  • The organization
  • ICT researchers have played significant roles in the BenchCouncil activities. Professor Jianfeng Zhan serves as the chair of the BenchCouncil steering committee. Dr. Lei Wang and Dr. Wanling Gao serve as BenchCouncil executive committee members.

  • The benchmarks
  • BenchCouncil hosts a series of influential open-source benchmarks. ICT researchers take an active part in the BigDataBench and AIBench projects.

  • BenchCouncil Transaction
  • Professor Jianfeng Zhan from ICT, CAS, serves as co-editor-in-chief of BenchCouncil Transactions on Benchmarks, Standards, and Evaluations (TBench editorial board).

  • BenchCouncil Conferences
  • BenchCoucil sponsors and organizes conferences annually during which ICT researchers provide extensive voluntary services. Academician Guangnan Ni served as general chair of the 2020  BenchCouncil International Symposium on Chips (Chips 20).

  • BenchCouncil Awards
  • BenchCouncil presents the BenchCouncil Achievement Award, the BenchCouncil Rising Star Award, the BenchCouncil Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award, and the BenchCouncil Tony Hey Best Student Paper Award. ICT researchers serve on the awards committee.
