Dr. Shihong Xia received PhD degree in computer science from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002. He has been a professor with the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2011. He is leading a human motion modeling research group.
This research group aims to develop novel interactive computing technology for the fusion of human and AI system. Specifically, he and his colleagues explore new computational models and methods for simulating or synthesizing natural human movement, in a cross-field research including computer graphics, virtual reality and artificial intelligence.
His research interests include motion capture and motion understanding with deep learning, generative models for motion synthesis and motion control, virtual human modeling using digital twins, and their applications in augmented reality and humanoid robotics.
