Dr. Tan is a full professor and PhD advisor of Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has focused on high performance computing (HPC) since 2002 when he was a Ph.D candidate. In the field of HPC, his research interest includes parallel algorithm and programming, parallel architecture. He also has a keen interest in interdisciplinary research between HPC and bioinformatics. He is one of the key members of the Dawning supercomputer system group. He has played an important role in developing technologies for building Dawning 4000/5000/6000/7000 supercomputers. All of these computers were the top 10 systems in the world according to TOP500 list. Until now, he has published more than 100 academic papers in top-ranking conferences (SC, PPoPP, PLDI, HPCA, DAC, AAAI) and journals (TC, TPDS). He has served as a program committee member for many conferences including SC, PPoPP, ICS, IPDPS. He was an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed System, a manage editor of CCF Transactions on High Performance Computing. He is the vice executive secretary of HPC special interest group of China Computer Federation.
