CAS Conducted an Onsite Evaluation of the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Information Processing

On June 8, 2011, the Bureau of Hi-Tech Research and Development of CAS organized experts to conduct an onsite evaluation of the work of the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Information Processing over the years between 2006 and 2011. During this period, the Laboratory has made significant progress in the research of statistical machine translation, face identification, resource space model and protein identification algorithm and the development of pFind software. The Laboratory has published 50 academic papers on international periodicals (SCI IF>1.0). It has also cultivated 90 PhD students and 107 post graduate students, among whom 2 PhD students won the national prize for 100 Excellent PhD Papers. In the meantime, the Laboratory has enhanced its international influence through extensive exchanges and cooperation with its counterparts and the industrial fields both at home and abroad.


While acknowledging the achievements made by the Laboratory in the last 5 years, the Expert Panel set higher targets for the Laboratory’s team construction and cultivation of talented personnel.
