The website of Beijing Foundation for Disabled Persons （www.bfdp.org.cn）, equipped with a barrier free design for the blind by the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICT, CAS), was officially put online on Dec. 23, 2010.
Based on the existing text version, the website was equipped with an audio system that could realize barrier free reading for its users by providing corresponding audio version, thus making it accessible to blind people or visually challenged persons.
A ceremony was held by Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology and Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation to mark the launch of the website as well as the progress made in promoting information accessibility for disabled people.downloadFile
