The Information Security Research Center is mainly engaged in the research on network information security, with emphasis on the information content security and network security, including network stream analysis, data stream computing, security attribute computing, and network security event supervision, network security evaluation and test, real-time filtering of information content security, software guarantee technology, etc.　
  The Center now has a staff of 30 permanent employees, including Academician Fang Binxing the chief scientist, Academician Gao Qingshi, Senior Engineer (professor rank) Guo Li the Director, Professor Yun Xiaochun, 5 associate professors, and 3 post doctors, as well as 40 Ph.D and master candidates. 
  In recent years, this Center has mainly undertaken projects from the National 973 Program, the National 863 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation , key security special projects of the Ministry of Industry and Informatization, etc., having obtained funds of more than one hundred million yuan in total. The main achievements obtained are as follows: Part of the key technologies and algorithms have passed relevant international standard testing and verification in practice and reached world’s advanced level；more than 400 papers were published, tens of which were presented at top symposiums or in magazines indexed by SCI；about 30 achievements were patented or to be patented, and more than 20 pieces of software were registered；and important tasks of the National Network and Information Security Guarantee Series were fulfilled, which were honored with a first prize and a second prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress.
